Frequently Asked Questions

Can you treat me at home?

We travel to you, generally, this is your home, but it could be your work place, gym, school, local village hall if more appropriate.

Is there a waiting list?

If we can not see you within 2 weeks we can either pop you on a waiting list or refer you on to another service.

What happens at the initial assessment?

I will meet you and once the initial paperwork is complete, we will discuss the difficulties you are having. I will assess you physically (You do not need to wear special clothes.) At the end of the assessment, we will discuss the challenges you are facing and how I can help you. We usually set goals, so the sessions are focussed and we can measure the effectiveness of our input.

What are your fees?

I charge for the face to face time, not for any additional letters, or phone calls or correspondence. I do not charge for time procuring equipment just face to face.

How frequently will you treat me?

Most patients use Holmwood Physiotherapy because of shortfalls in the NHS. We will agree with the frequency at the initial assessment and review this a month later. Some patents have a tight budget and have just 2-3 treatments to learn the correct exercises and equipment they need whilst others request treatment 2-3 times a week to achieve specific goals. We will tailor our input to meet your needs.

I had my injury/Stroke several years ago, can I still improve?

We offer a goal specific approach to rehabilitation, as your body ages some things may become more challenging and input is required or as you rest and recover from your initial injury your body’s ability to take on new approaches may be better timed, we can advise you following the initial assessment what is realistic.
